The cost of being a sports fan has reached a breaking point. New data shows that attending live games is pushing fans into debt, and for one in five, even watching at a sports bar is no longer affordable.

They face pressure to keep up with friends and social media trends, even as their budgets shrink. Industry experts warn that the trend could hurt the long-term health of professional sports. If fans can't afford to watch, they may lose interest altogether. For now, the message is clear: being a fan is a financial commitment, and many are struggling to keep up.
