St Mirren's Stellar Performance: A Remarkable 8-2 Victory
July 20, 2025 - 09:42
Manager Stephen Robinson lauded St Mirren's "very clinical" attacking display following their impressive 8-2 victory over Annan. This commanding win marks a significant turnaround for the team, especially after their previous Premier Sports Cup match ended in a goalless draw against Arbroath. With this latest triumph, St Mirren has now netted a total of 10 goals in their last two matches, showcasing their offensive prowess.
Mikael Mandron was instrumental in the early stages of the game, scoring three goals within the first nine minutes, following a brace from Killian Phillips. Despite the strong start, Annan managed to respond with two goals, briefly narrowing the gap. However, the momentum shifted back in St Mirren's favor when Richard King successfully converted a penalty on the hour mark. The match not only highlights the team's attacking capabilities but also sets a positive tone for their upcoming fixtures in the tournament.
