Michigan has added a wide receiver to its recruiting class by flipping a player previously committed to Toledo. The move comes as the Wolverines look to address a passing attack that finished near the bottom of the Football Bowl Subdivision this past season.
The flip gives Michigan another option at a position that struggled to produce consistent results in 2024. The coaching staff has made no secret of its intention to upgrade the receiving corps through both the transfer portal and high school recruiting, and landing a player away from a Mid-American Conference program fits that plan.
Toledo had held the commitment for some time before Michigan's late push changed the picture. The Wolverines pitched an opportunity for early playing time and a larger stage, and the receiver ultimately chose to reopen his recruitment before settling on Ann Arbor.
The addition is a modest one on paper, but it reflects a broader effort to rebuild an offense that leaned heavily on the run game. Michigan's staff has been candid about needing more speed and separation on the outside, and this commitment is a step in that direction.
The class continues to take shape as the staff balances immediate needs with long term roster building.
