The evening recognized students who showed excellence in various sports, including basketball, soccer, track and field, and volleyball. Awards were given for outstanding performance, sportsmanship, and leadership. Organizers highlighted the importance of teamwork and dedication, noting that these middle school athletes represent the future of high school and college sports in the area.
Local coaches and school administrators spoke during the banquet, sharing stories of perseverance and growth. Many students received certificates and medals for their achievements. The event also featured a keynote address from a former Long Beach athlete who encouraged the young players to stay focused on their goals.
The Long Beach Century Club has supported youth athletics for decades, providing funding and resources for school sports programs.
