Lions Free Agent Addition Receives Fantasy Sleeper Status
July 27, 2026 - 04:57
Isaiah Pacheco did not deliver for the Kansas City Chiefs last season. Many fantasy owners who drafted him felt the sting of his underwhelming production. But a change of scenery might be exactly what he needs. After signing with the Detroit Lions as a free agent, Pacheco is being tabbed as a potential sleeper pick for the 2026 fantasy season.
The Lions lost David Montgomery during the offseason, which opens up a clear path for Pacheco to step into a meaningful role. According to analyst Kristopher Knox, that vacancy should be enough to push Pacheco into flex consideration. The reasoning is simple. Detroit runs the ball with heavy volume, and the offensive line is one of the best in the league. Even a part-time role in that system carries value.
Pacheco has shown flashes of being a physical, downhill runner. He just never found consistency in Kansas City last year. Now, with a fresh start and a clear opportunity, he could regain the form that made him a popular mid-round pick in previous seasons. Fantasy managers looking for a late-round value might find exactly that in Pacheco this fall.
