Former Seahawks Tight End Claimed off Waivers by the Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers have added a new tight end to their roster, claiming Lance Mason off waivers just days after the Seattle Seahawks let him go. Mason, who came out of the University of Wisconsin-Madison as an undrafted free agent, had been with Seattle for only a short time before being waived on August 6.

His departure from Seattle came as the Seahawks made room for undrafted fullback Brock Lampe. That move gave Seattle three fullbacks on their 90-man training camp roster, a rare setup for any NFL team. But for Mason, the timing worked out in his favor.
