Former Rams Cornerback Signs Deal With Recent Super Bowl Team

The New England Patriots have made a move to bolster their defensive depth, signing former Los Angeles Rams cornerback Al'zillion Hamilton to their practice squad. The team announced the transaction through its official channels, confirming the addition of the rookie defensive back.

Hamilton, who spent time with the Rams during the preseason and training camp, will now get an opportunity to develop within New England's system. The Patriots also released linebacker Jose Ramirez and offensive lineman Da'Metrius Taylor in corresponding roster moves to make room for the new addition.

The 5-foot-11, 180-pound cornerback originally entered the league as an undrafted free agent. He played his college football at Louisiana Tech, where he showed enough promise to earn a look from NFL teams. His speed and ball skills made him an intriguing prospect, though he faced an uphill battle for a roster spot in Los Angeles given the team's established secondary.

New England has a history of developing young defensive backs and finding contributors from the practice squad. Hamilton will have the chance to learn behind veterans and potentially earn a promotion to the active roster if he performs well in practice.

The Patriots continue to tweak their roster as the season progresses, looking for players who can provide depth and compete for playing time. For Hamilton, this represents a fresh start and a real opportunity to prove he belongs in the league.
