Jason Kidd, the head coach of the NBA's Dallas Mavericks, has officially joined the American ownership group of English Premier League club Everton. The announcement was made on Thursday, confirming Kidd’s new role within the organization. He has become a part of Roundhouse Capital Holdings, which is affiliated with the Friedkin Group that acquired control of the Merseyside club in December.
Kidd's involvement marks a significant crossover between American sports and English football, showcasing the growing trend of American investors taking stakes in European football clubs. His experience as a player and coach in the NBA brings a unique perspective to the ownership group. Everton, a historic club in English football, has been seeking to strengthen its position both on and off the pitch, and Kidd’s addition is seen as a strategic move to enhance their global presence.
As the club continues to navigate the challenges of the Premier League, Kidd’s insights and leadership could play a vital role in shaping its future direction.
